Dine like a local while in Fort Walton Beach at these top favorite spots. It’s hard to pick just one to try, so why not try them all?

Breakfast

Blue Collar Cafe: The Blue Collar Cafe has been called the ‘Best Kept Secret of Fort Walton Beach’! This cafe has multiple reviews for having a great breakfast. Choose from crispy bacon and eggs, to bagels and skillet potatoes. They are also praised for their amazing fresh baked goods. You can’t go wrong with a cinnamon bun, croissant, or muffin. Pair it with their freshly roasted coffee and you are good to go.

Neighborhood Cafe: From the outside it may not look like much, but Neighborhood Cafe is cooking it up just like momma used to make. Everything from omelets, french toast, pancakes to eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns, Neighborhood Cafe is your stop for an all country breakfast. When you eat here you feel right at home, as they treat each customer as part of their family.

Lunch

Stewby’s Seafood Shanty: This small take out or dine in restaurant is definitely off the beaten path, but totally worth it. It is quick seafood, without skimping on the quality. This place is known for it’s family friendly dining and it’s amazing ‘samwiches’. Stewby’s is a quick service restaurant (not fast food) with a drive thru. During busy hours, be aware that the drive thru can take up to 10 minutes. However, it is a small price to pay for what you will receive in return.

Props Craft Brewery & Grill: This local brewery has brought craft brewed beer and bar food to a whole new level. Now they have two locations. At both locations you can see the brewing process in action. It has been said by customers that it feels like a hidden treasure. Not only do they have great craft beer, but also some interesting burgers that are worth trying. The pickle burger is a creation that Props serves up. It is an 8 oz char-grilled Angus beef burger topped with fried pickles, bacon, provolone cheese and jalapeno ranch.

Dinner

Bayou Bill’s: Even though it is about a half an hour away from Fort Walton Beach, it is worth the drive for some fresh local seafood. Bayou Bill’s offers up classic seafood and is a place that offers a unique environment, with the best service. The crab feast for two is impressive. Enjoy all of the crab they offer on one huge platter: Snow, Dungeness, and Blue Crab served with corn on the cob and new potatoes. Don’t forget to grab one of their adorable t-shirts on the way out to commemorate your trip.

Floyd’s Shrimp House: Floyd’s offers a great family friendly dining experience right on the water. It is located on the right side of the boardwalk, complete with Gulf Coast views. Famous for it’s all you can eat shrimp from 4-6 p.m., Floyd’s has become a family favorite spot for a  seafood fill up. However, they also have a variety of other seafood options, as well as ‘Cousin Earl Faves’ for those who want to take a break from seafood.

Bonus:

Bon Appetit French Bakery & Cafe: This local bakery is french inspired and has some of the best sandwiches. Try the French inspired eclairs, cakes, and tarts. Each is prepared with the utmost care. Locals say it is a great place to meet and enjoy a pastry and sip a coffee.

We hope this list is helpful in your exploration of Fort Walton Beach! These places are truly what Fort Walton Beach is all about: family, friends, and fun. We hope you have fun eating like a local. Once you experience these places, Fort Walton Beach is sure to have a special place in your heart.
